Support Groups
Resolve of Georgia
is offering
two
types of support groups for this season:
Discussion/Social Groups,
and
Therapist Groups.
These groups provide the opportunity
to exchange information and feelings with others who can
relate directly to the experiences and emotions of infertility.
You must be a member of Resolve to participate
We encourage all RESOLVE members to think about joining one of the
following groups, as we consider them beneficial to anyone
experiencing infertility. Participation in a support
group is reserved for RESOLVE members only, please.
Discussion / Social Groups
These groups are peer-led with no therapist in attendance.
The purpose of these sessions is to discuss infertility
issues with others going through the same experiences in an
informal setting. They are open to all members, singles and
couples, and you may attend as few or as many sessions as is
helpful. There is no charge to attend these group meetings.
There are several Adoption Support Groups
in the metro Atlanta area.
Prospective and completed families are welcome.

Specialized Therapist-Led Groups
GENERAL GROUPS - These are on-going general infertility support groups that are
therapist-led. An attendance commitment that is determined by the members and the
therapist is required. The frequency of these sessions (usually every 2 to 3 weeks)
is decided by the group. The location is determined by the therapist. Groups are
formed for women and couples and mostly deal with emotional issues associated with
infertility of all kinds and stages.
SPECIALIZED GROUPS - These groups start at certain times during the year, are
for a limited time, require a commitment of 6 to 8 sessions, and meet approximately
every 2 weeks. They deal with specific issues (i.e., miscarriage, secondary
infertility, pre-adoption, post-adoption, pregnancy after infertility, childfree
living, etc.) and are held in the therapist's office.
The average fee for therapist-led groups is $25 to $35/person/session. Depending
on your health insurance policy, many times a certain number of sessions will be
covered if led by a certified therapist. Check with your insurer for more
