Advocacy
Advocacy for infertility- and adoption-related issues is one
of the objectives of Resolve of Georgia.

Resolve of Georgia goes to Washington D.C.
This year, Resolve's National Leadership Convention was held
in Washington, D.C. on April 7-9, which turned out to be the
peak of cherry blossom season. Thanks to the efforts of Renee
Whitley, our Advocacy Chair and a member of Resolve's Chapter
Advisory Group, the Resolve of Georgia group was able to visit
the offices of 11 of our elected officials including
Congressman Phil Gingrey (pictured).
In addition to
Renee, our group included Janet Eason (2004-2005 President of
Resolve of Georgia) and Mary McGrath (Adoption Symposium
Co-Chair). National Resolve Board members Dr. Joe Massey
(a founder of Reproductive Biology Associates), Carol Fulwiler
Jones (a licensed therapist), and Leigh Boston (former co-President
of Resolve of Georgia).
We spoke with representatives from the
following offices:
Senator Johnny Isaakson
Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney
Congressman Phil Gingrey
Senator Saxby Chambliss
Congressman John Lewis
Congressman John Linder
Congressman Charlie Norwood
Congressman Jack Kingston
Congressman Nathan Deal
We also were able to meet personally with Congressman
Tom Price. We discussed several pieces of legislation,
including some which would provide mandated federally insurance
for infertility, and an exention of the tax credit for adoption.
We spent the remaining two days in workshops learning many
exciting new things which we will share with you in the next
edition of the newsletter. All in all, it was a very exciting
and productive trip!
